Searching for, and selecting, a commercial Real Estate Broker for help finding space or a property to purchase is done in ways like finding other professionals.
You can start by asking people you know who have leased space or bought a commercial property. Sometimes your residential real estate agent will have a recommendation (hopefully it’s not them). I get referrals from some of the most successful residential Brokers/Agents in the area. They know it’s a very different business. Ask your attorney or accountant. See whose signs are on prominent properties, or who’s advertising. Then, it’s actually okay to ask a Broker for their resume.
